CPD

CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development. It refers to the process of tracking and documenting the skills, knowledge and experience that you gain both formally and informally as you work, beyond any initial training. It’s a record of what you experience, learn and then apply.

CPD is a way for professionals to demonstrate that they continue to learn and develop throughout their careers, to keep their skills and knowledge up to date and are able to work safely, legally and effectively. In recent times the pace of change has made keeping up-to-date an increasingly onerous task. Increasing expectations on the part of consumers put pressure on both practitioners and the professional bodies to ensure that skills are indeed being maintained.
